I give an egg to my brother and he claimed that even knocking the egg hard on the frying pan failed to crack the egg. When it cracked it was mostly shell, is he having me on, as I never saw it and all mine seem ok.

some eggs are really strong but doubt it would be nearly all shell - why not ask to see this shell

Hi he claimed he bined it , in saying that she tryed very hard to get another egg from me. I know 2 of the 3 girls are laying nice hard shells, and the 3rd one she lays very brown eggs which have weak shells

Most people on this site worry about thin shells so count yourself lucky

Eggs can be very strong if you hit them in certain ways or orientations.  A sharp blow with a knife usually does the trick better than on the edge of a pan. I usually use the point of a sharp knife inserted at right angles to top my boiled eggs rather than trying to smash the "lid off"; much less likely to have yolk running everywhere
