chooks to visit the allotment

Having seen how "well" my 2 can dig and clean the soil in the garden, hubby is talking about taking them on the odd daytrip to the allotment.

He'll take a roll of chicken wire to erect a portable run. Will they need some kind of shelter too in case they get spooked?

I know some of you take your chooks to your allotments and wondered what sort of set up you have?

Hi Fannyann

I take my two chooks to the allotment . I take some poultry net to make a pen for them and they need a shelter from the sun, I use a golf umbarella. I give them water and some feed, just incase they don't find much. But I don't take them there if they have not laid that day.

Thanks for the advice, think the chooks are going to enjoy the change of scene and the garden will enjoy the rest :!:
