percy thrower was mr gardener himself . he was the only tv presenter gardener who got his hands down and dirty in every program.showing you how to plant things from start to harvest ,he lived and loved what he did i had great delight in watching his old programs

i also remember the great jack hargreaves  and met jack hargreaves
. now he was a real country man in all respects . i met him when he came to see eel trapping in the locks around the farms in louth . he had a boiled egg in his waistcoat pocket lol , n cracked it on the back of his hand  stood eating it and carried on talking as if he was at home on the sofa lo
