We do!! All 20 odd of them with two cockerels. Our allotment site is next to playing fields on one side, farmers fields on two sides and houses at the near end. Our allotment is up at the far end furthest from the houses but there is a guy with similar numbers of chickens and cockerels three allotment widths from he nearest house/garden!

If you haven't already it might be worth asking on some of the other bits of the forum as well - there's probably plenty of people that could keep chooks on their allotment but just don't ... all adds to your case
