We have a large crockpot, I do agree the  high setting seems a bit hot so ours stays on low.

We would not be without it now, the OH just filled it up with stuff for a lamb stew to go on in the morning ready for when we come home from work.

Cant wait.

Steamed puds in the slow cooker- I never bother because of steaming up the kitchen and all that watching and topping up <goes off to read slow cooker book>, I do my 'steamed' puds in the micro.  Jamies 30min meals have a great prune teacup pud. 5 mins microwave 
I do like my puds  .  yes it shows

Hi firstly my apologies for not replying to any of your comments. family crisis has kept me occupied for most of the week.
Thank you for all your comments. Unfortunately most of the cookers that you guys like do not appear to be made any more.
With the assistance of my family crisis who is now living at home  I have purchased a different crock pot cooker which has a timer so fingers crossed I have made the correct choice.
