That's good! I clicked on Leichester :)

I don't plant untill plant untill may either..
Everyting is still in pots: I allways use these 'trays' with a handle with 6 pots. You get them when you buy someting like viola labradorica.. This makes it easy to shift them (12 in each hand) and the pots are large enough to give them some growing space.
Chickens in the pen: plants in, chickens out, plants out :) So every evening there are about 40 plants in front of my back door!

Otherwise I wouldn't know how to do it without a greenhouse...

I think you got my personal settings!

Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

On top of the compost heap?

Yup  :)   Not to be composted, either.

I haven't much space for courgettes so I will pop reasonably well established plants onto one of my 3 heaps (finished composting now).  Should be handy for greedy plants if I water into the middle of the heap with an upturned bottle.

This works really well -- I grew a squash plant in the top of my pallet bin last year. Great crop  :D

I sow all tender plant's first week of May and never plant out until June. They allway's catch up. People on my site have their runner's out alread, they do the same every year and re sow when the frost get's them.

Do the fruits not rot when in contact with the compost heap?
When weeding, the best way to know if its a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull it.

If it comes out easy, it was a valuable plant !

I think that with courgettes, they need a good seeing-to in pots as their first own growing space, then bite the bullet and pop them in to their final resting place, and place them under cloches for the first week or so!

They'll always moan and sulk, but one day, you'll go down there, and they'll be enormous!

Think bother - think courgettes...;0)

You're right: This service doesn't extend to The Netherlands, that is why I clicked on Leichester: that is your place isn't it? :)

That's as close as you'll get.

I didn't know whether it defaulted to Leicester as I'd already set it for there.

I've been growing courgettes and marrows on a compost heap for years down my allotment - well it's a good use of the space. Yes the oldsters looked at me odd the first time but when I succeeded they all nodded and said that these youngsters sometimes had good ideas (and there was me at 61 the cheeky wotsits).

Mine only have seed leaves so I think we will be ok. Missed my courgettes. Paid 1.49 for two in morrisons last week that's daylight robbery. I nearly bashed the manager on the head with a courgette but I couldn't afford too.

That's not to bad actually.. I pay between 3 and 5 euros when I buy things like herbs or pepers. 1 euro is 0,86 p.

Things like cabbage or leeks are much cheaper though but they won't be selling any to me: not organic (nor are the peppers or herbs).
