Title: Bluebells and tulips and things...
Post by: jonewer on November 30, 2011, 10:27
Morning, has anyone else noticed their bluebells coming through already? Seems a tad early to me!

Also, whats the latest I can plant tulip bulbs? I have some in the garage but first need to clear the garden which I cant do till later as I need to move some shrubs about.

Thanks.

RHS advice says plant tulips until late autumn, so you should be OK still. Our bluebells are not showing...

I think it was Harlow Carr that did a trial of tulip planting times for Gardeners Question time.  They found that tulips planted as late as March did as well as the earlier planted bulbs, altho the stems were  shorter. :)
