Title: Wrest Park
Post by: hillfooter on September 16, 2011, 13:26
As yesterday it's a fabulous warm sunny day here.  Yesterday we went to Wrest Park the newly opened English Heritage site not far from me.  If you like your gardens on a grand scale and with lots of landscape parkland this is a must visit for you.  Fabulous garden walks with secret paths to explore and architecture to admire.

For scholars of the history of garden design it's a very unique and important garden.

Nice pictures HF.  A lovely contrast to the weather we are having today.  It's cold, grey and damp.

Looks lovely HF. I'll move this into places to visit, in case you're looking for it to add more pics.  :)

... English Heritage site not far from me.

That looks  very nice HF, but where is "not far from me"  ?  Your profile gives  no clue as to where you are.

Yes that was because at the time I first joined the site there were a spate of chicken thefts.  You probably remember Archie's Little Gems lost all his stock.  There was some thought that the theives were using chat line sites to pin point targets and at the time the mods were discouraging people who had breeding stock from being specific about their whereabouts.  So I removed my location after being advised to do so.  I suppose I could be a little more specific now.

What a beautiful house and gardens - wonder how many people it takes to keep it looking like that.  :)
