yeh sounds daft but it true according to the eu figures .and salmonella is under control according to the politicians and  heres the rub most of the salmonella cases in eggs imported come from spain ...more reason to keep your own blooming chickens and buy british in my book?


just a note

1 in 30 boxes of eggs are  carying salmonella in a new salmonella scare being reported today on ceefax

When you see the price of some eggs it really makes you wonder how they can afford to sell them for so little, our local 99pence shop 18 eggs for 99p, bet they are british eggs.

yes just checked the 15 egg container i collect from the vilagers .i use em to pack my eggs in. with my own label of course on top , uk origin £1 = 15 asda savers ,blooming ridiculous , thats 0.06.5 p an egg or there abouts

That's why I have my two chooks Karl.  They lay me a dozen eggs a week, (more than I usually use).  They have been inoculated agains all the usual things including salmonella,  Their eggs are a wonderful flavour, must be all the slugs and an occasional frog  :shock:

Oh...  they're very cute too  :!:

Did you hear on the radio that loads of free range eggs are actually battery eggs? 3 people under arrest but where there is money to be made...

Buying free range is a vote for humane treatment and now we find it means as much as a politicians promise.

Everyone has space to keep a couple of chooks.  My garden is tiny :!:

Proud to say we only stock free range eggs in our shop.  They are from a local farm, details of which are postered right next to the eggs, so customers can pop along at any time to check on the happy chooks for themselves, should they want to.

Brilliant - a combination of good marketing and being green - and there's nowt wrong with that.
