:D What a loveball.
-
At long last we picked up Kira on Sunday, she's now 7 weeks old and as you would expect, totally adorable :nowink:
This was taken yesterday as she was de-heading the dandelions!

Too cute. ;)
-
Very cute
-
:D Now we know where all your money will go.
-
She's a beauty :) She'll need quite a bit of brushing to keep her looking good. A chap near me takes his brush out with him when he walks his GS and brushes it outdoors while on his walk, releasing all the fur into the atmos

Fun times ahead for you :)what a lovely adorable pup :)

She's a cutie. :)
They love helping with the gardening at that age, just watch out she doesn't start de-heading any shrubs! Our collie did that. ::) :nowink:

... or the chickens ! :(
-
She's beautiful ........ enjoy this lovely stage before she becomes a teenager! :)
-
Aah - she is very sweet! Enjoy her while she is still small enough to cuddle! My friends GS is over 50kg fully grown! :)
-
Thanks everyone. She's certainly a mischievous little devil! She has been introduced to the chickens and doesn't seem too bothered about them at the moment, she's more interested in eating bluebells & dandelions!
-
She has such soulful eyes - absolutely beautiful. :)

I would stop her eating the bluebells as they can be poisonous for dogs LINK (http://www.dogstrust.org.uk/_resources/resources/factsheets09/factsheetpoisonoussubstances09.pdf) :(
-
Thanks for the link ANHBUC, was not aware that bluebells could be harmful!
-
Gorgeous puppy!
I have my hands full with cute babies at the moment too! A feral (ish) cat gave birth in a greenhouse on our allotment and we have 4 cute babies to keep an eye on!
Would love a puppy, but one of us would need to cut our hours first!
-
Best not show my kids this photo - they've been nagging for a puppy for ages!!
-
We had a GSD at home when I was younger and she was a great big girl but she would insist on sitting on my mother's knee, and I mean sitting as opposed to lying. She used to sit with her front paws on my mum's knees watching the telly or looking out of the window  My mother used to put up with it for about five minutes before turfing her off as she was just too heavy :D
GSD's are scavengers and will eat anything, so keep an eye out on what's she up to :)
-
Now that is such a cute ball of fur.
-
Congratulations on your new addition to the family. She is beautiful. I have another 2 weeks to wait yet and it feels like a lifetime
-
She's getting a lot bigger.Looks cheeky.
-
Concentrating ... on ways to investigate aka cause chaos! :D
-
Lots of mischief to come for you :) :)
-
Here's my little bundle of joy at 10 weeks
She's extremely mischievous but totally loveable. :D. Her latest trick is to tip her water bowl upside down! My kitchen floor has never been so clean!

Lovely looking Shepard :) i dont half miss mine ::)
See she has a floppy ear ... thats mainly down to her teething , a good knuckle bone will sort that out ;)
-
Beautiful girl. :)
-
Whoa she has grown loads. Looks full of mischief lol
-
She's a stunner :) That was an interesting comment about the ear. I didn't know about that. Ta for the info :)
-
Oh my what a gorgeous girl. Give her puppy ears a sniff for me
-
Wow! She's grown quickly. :D
-
I love floppy-eared dogs, and this one will be a beauty.
-

I had never come across that info before either. It's always been known as German Shepherd puppy ears. :D
-
Gosh - she HAS grown!
Re the ears - I have had the opposite problem after my puppy has teethed! Her ears are supposed to fold over but have now pricked up and don't seem like they will go down now! Apparently it is common for a number of dog breeds that their ears go all over the place during teething and I have read somewhere that it could be due to the calcium being used to form the new teeth? After reading about the lengths that some breeders go to to get the ears to "set properly" (gluing them into place with Copydex?! Using Gaffer tape?!) we will just wait and see what they do naturally.
Anyway I think Kira's floppy ear adds extra cuteness! :D
-
The breeder has advised to give Kira cottage cheese for extra calcium to help with the ear. It is still very early days for her ears to be up, it can take anytime up to 6 months. The second ear stands up occasionally with just the tip bent over, very cute!
-
What a lovely looking young lady :) :) :) :)
Good times ahead for you two :) :)
-
Adorable - just like my Poppy was at that age. She loved to tip up the water bowl too.
-
Here's Kira at 14 weeks, she's a real bundle of mischief! ::)

Wow she's huge!
I love the way puppies like Kira have to grow into their ears!
Ears and paws - always huge on pups and kittens!
-
She is beautiful and looking so alert with her ears pricked up. :)
-

 did you leave her standing in the manure pile ?
She's getting some really expressive markings now too. Give her a cheek wobble from me :D
-
wow she is gorgeous :)
-
Thanks everyone, I'm totally besotted with her ::) I call her little miss eyebrows, I think you can see why! :D
-
Love the ears! She is beautiful.
-
Kira is now 6 and 1/2 months. She's very much a juvenile now, very stubborn if she wants to be! Training is going well but she has her moments of naughtiness. She is still very cheeky but she's also very loving. We've had lots of lovely compliments about her looks and temperament, even the vet asked if we were planning to breed from her as she's so lovely! We're not though. We have however, told the breeder that we would like to have a friend for her. So Kira will be joined by a male pup in January! Can't wait! :D

She really is a beauty. I adore GS's.
-
She is gorgeous. Such a pretty dog. :)
And having a little brother too! Now my friend Rachel got a second GS to befriend Lily (her first GS) after Milo the jack russell died.
Duke (the younger male GS) is very protective of them all so beware.
He even went for a family friend of Rachel's mum and ripped her jumper (Rachel had repeatedly told this woman not to lean on or over the fence as Duke is so protective - she didn't listen) . Luckily he didn't fully bite her, but it is something to think about.
-
Really excited :nowink: , Kira's 'brother' was born on Friday! :tongue2: :tongue2:
This is mum Paige and her 7 pups (one is hiding)

The little fella in the middle is mine, his name is Bruin. :)

-
Another one!!
Wow! How cute! :)
-
Awwww, bet you can't wait!
Becky
-
Mum doesn't have the beautiful GS colouring that Kira has. I'm curious how Bruin will colour up.
-
Bruin is a dark gold sable so could be similar to mum or could be lighter. :nowink: Although Kira & Bruin are from the same breeder, they have different parents.
-
This is Bruin, now 5 weeks old. We pick him up on 18 Jan-can't wait!

He looks very mischievous :D you're going to be busy
-
Oh dear, look at all that shredded paper behind him :D Better you than me.
-
love them when they are at the unsure of whether their ears should be up or down stage :)
-
Oh dear, look at all that shredded paper behind him :D Better you than me.
I'm not saying he is totally innocent but I'm sure his 6 litter mates helped with the shredding of the paper :)
I am anticipating lots of mischief from him and Kira however :D
-
I thought it was about time I posted an up to date photo of my 2 'angels' the bottom photo shows how big Bruin is, Kira (black & gold) is a year old, Bruin is not yet 5 months
