Hi all just had a look at my Agave and found what look like scale bugs,could they be and would it be ok to spray with the same stuff as i do my trees.Anyone had the same problem.Cheers

It could be scale insect.  There are many different types and some do attack houseplants.  Provado do an aerosol specifically designed for houseplants that gets almost everything, including scale.  Remove what you can with a damp cotton bud and then treat the plant. 

I would take the plant outside to spray it, or at least into an airy room with the windows open.  The mist the aerosol produces is very fine and dries fast, but its not particulary something you want to be breathing in.

If you want to avoid spraying, and there are not too many scale insects, I have found that a cotton bud dipped in meths removes them effectively. You do need to check regularly after that though as tiny ones might well escape notice and will need dealing with as they grow.
