Oh pooh, I forgot the competition came back in September.  My eldest is cojming to stay in November for a week and she is computer literate.  She has promised to show me how to quote and how to put up pictures.  Could we please know now what the comp is going to be then so I can take the pictures now.  I'm going to Osbourne House at the weekend so can we have Stately homes.

This was our first harvest, five weeks after getting allocated the allotment.  It isn't much compared to some experienced members but it meant so much to us to eat our first harvest with our lasagna!  :D

I'm just warning you now, we have found out what was wrong with our digital camera, we were using 1600 batteries and it needed 2000.  We thought after the two year warranty had run out we would have to throw it, but wey hey it now works perfectly.  We are able to transfer to the computer so I'll just accept the prize now.

Greenhouse is 10x6 and always run out of room!
Varities are Pink Brandywine, Marmande, Ferline, Shirley and Arasta.
Also grown Gardeners Delight, Sungold and Tigerella outside.
My favourites are Arasta, Sungold and Tigerella for taste.
Brandywine and Marmande are great for sauces and soups.

Title: Oh Dear.  Never go away for a couple of weeks...

Description: There's nearly 19 lb of beans; 4 green courgettes (actually 3 pretending to be rounders bats) weighing over 9 lb in total, and a yellow one over 3 lb; 4 types of squash (9 separate vegetables) weighing nearly 10 lb.

And I've not attached a photo of the spuds, peas or fennel.

And I already have a full freezer.

And I've run out of jars to make chutney.

And I'm running out of friends to palm this lot onto.

Aaaargggghhhhhhh !!!

Perhaps only 3 bean plants per variety and one courgette plant next year ???

Title: I was going to be harvested...

...but I'm not now because I disappeared for three weeks then turned up with nine of these!

This image will probably be disqualified as it probably doesn't qualify as harvest, but who's bothered when the Chinese bantam produced such pretty cheep cheeps!

Our freezer fuse blew some time ago, turning our entire harvest thus far into a mouldy, soggy mess. So I won't be entering this comp.

Although we have got some bullet-hard sweetcorn with the obligatory community of earwigs. I might phograph the biggest and best of the cobs.

Got my book today and had a very informational read. It's extremely useful and pointed out a few things to me that i never would of thought about. If you want to have a book that covers all the breeds you'll encounter usually as a 'pet' hen keeper AND has most of the information about almost all aspects of chicken keeping I'd recommend it. S
