Advice on rotavators please
« on: October 15, 2009, 12:59 »
My Mantis 2 stroke has given up the ghost. I now need to buy a rotavator - can I please ask if you experienced gardeners out there have any advice on Honda versus Mantis. At the smaller end of the 4 stroke market they seem similiar in price but with Honda I would have to rebuy all the attachments I already have for the Mantis range. I have  large plots and narrow ones to deal with plus lawns to aerate and scarify.
Any views on the relative merits of Honda and on good suppliers would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks

back in the dark ages of pages in this section, I wrote an article about that small Honda machine. I thought it was a good little tool for the money. :)
Some of our other members have written posts about the Honda, too.

BUT, if I were in your position, I'd get another Mantis, simply because I already had all the other bits, and the Mantis is a great little machine as well! ;)

I agree. In my case I have a Mantis Electric so there is no contest (I don't know of any other make that do an electric model as good). If I had a problem with mine I would order another electric motor, unless it was a problem in the basic machine when I would order another complete machine.

many thanks to you all, mantis were prepared to sell me a new two stroke engine but I had decided on the electric mantis based on good reports. As you all said me having a good range of mantis attachments meant a big spend to go Honda all over.
Thanks again
