My neighbour up the road gave me 7 chicks and their Mum (she is on loan until they are big enough to cope) Boy was she mad when we picked up her babies.
It will be my luck to find I have 5 cockerals and 2 laying hens! Now we need to build the hen house and the run

Grow your cockerels on if you do get any Oliveview, and when they are nice and fat, put them in the freezer!  You'll find someone over there that'll happily kill them for you, even if you give him a chicken in exchange!    My Brian would do it for you, but his passport ran out!!!!

I know my neighbour would kill them, she killed a chicken for us (from her uncle) I plucked it and she showed me how to gut it, we bbq´d it.... bad mistake, it was as tough as old boots.

Make the best chicken stock ever though - use all the veg trimmings / thinnings and plenty of fresh herbs (late in the cooking).  Or get a pressure cooker like Munty's.
