replacing the mesh covering polytunnel vents
« on: February 23, 2019, 09:36 »
The mesh covering the vents ripped badly over the Winter and I need to re-cover them. I plan to use enviromesh-style material but am unsure what sort of adhesive to use to attach it to the surrounding plastic edge of the "window frame" if you see what I mean

Does anyone have any suggestions please?

Could you apply Velcro to the enviromesh & the glue that to the existing cover or even get some help to sew it on in situ? I’ll ask hubby re glue

I shall need a velcro edge to the new window material, so that the cover can be rolled down and closed over it in cold weather. I can't sew it on as I don't want to make any hole in the plastic itself, plus I have 24 of them to do! It will be like a sandwich: plastic cover, mesh panel, then the velcro

Jezza I am not sre I can manage to heat glue at the plot but I migth ask the firm I purchased to tunnels from about a suitable adhesive... now what didn't I think of that????
