Belgian Mums
« on: November 26, 2009, 13:51 »
Please. I bought a Belgian Mum. Nice purplely-mauvey flowers. These flowers are now dying. I am looking for some information on what to do? Pinch-out or leave? Is it now the end of the flowering season? Any after-care information would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Yes it is the end of the flowering season so a little haircut is good, then leave alone unitl the spring, bit of general fertiliser, then a bit of tomato food from early summer and they should flower again and do you proud.

I expect someone will have a posh way of doing it but this werks fer me  :D

Are they in the ground, or in pots? If in the ground, lift and pot up and store somewhere frost free. Same applies if they are growing in pots. Get them under cover.

Thanks to you both.
So, a haircut and because the plant is outside lifting, potting and placing in a cold greenhouse it is.
Thanks again.
