Cardboard
« on: March 31, 2011, 09:39 »
The things people throw away! I was lucky enough to walk passed a skip full of thick cardboard yesterday. I got one or two strange looks, but what the hell,I was straight in there. It makes for a great moisture retainer on my plot as the ground soon dries out around here. I put it in the bottom of pea trenches and the likes...it works a treat :)

It is useful for temporary paths on muddy plots too.

Did you ask the owner of the skip if you could have it first?

Best look out for the real police, iggyboy.  If you don't ask before removing anything from a skip it is theft.  Pure and simple.  We've had this discussion on here before.  We know of at least one person prosecuted for this and lost their job as a result.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

Just to clarify this obviously touchy subject, the lads on site watched me take the cardboard from the skip. As I was walking away there was a titter or two,so I guess they assumed the cardboard was going to be my bed for the night :D :D
