Title: Results so far
Post by: yorky on August 26, 2012, 19:42
Because I have had such a bad year with the veg, I have decided to concentrate on showing mainly things from the greenhouse. The first show was yesterday at a village about 4 miles down the road from me and I didnt do too bad The standard fuchsia, Angel Pelegonium and Begonia all won first prize in their class.

This yellow Begonia was unplaced, which rather surprised me because I thought it was my best exhibit. It just goes to show that you can't second guess the judges.

My second and final show was last Saturday. Once again because my veg were rubbish I mainly showed pot plants. I did manage to get 2nd place with a cabbage, no photo though because we ate half of it with our Sunday dinner.
This onion came in at 4lbs 10oz but could only make 2nd place. The winner was nearly a full two pounds heavier.

These two Pelergoniums came 1st and 2nd

And once again the judges surprised me by not placing this white zonal. I thought it was a much better plant than the one I actually won with.
