So all my onions are now yellow and fallen over ( these were spring planted) just couldnt keep them watered enough in our heavy clay soil. So should i just lift them now or wait for some rain ?

Over-watering can dilute the taste of many things and can lead to fungal problems too. I have lifted a couple to use and they're fine. Dig them up and spread on something to dry them off.

No chance of over watering lol grounds dry as a bone and cracked. Major pain of having no running water at the site lol. 

Think I will lift them up as dont think going to put on any more weight. Shame as they were doing so well

Lifted mine last Monday and they are all drying on a couple of wooden slatted benches. I'll leave them another couple of weeks to finish drying and then store them in one of the sheds in four old vegetable racks that I kept for that purpose
