I have just harvested my first saffron!
Can I use it fresh tonight in my cooking or do I need to dry it first? So excited  :D

Well done  :)

I dry mine on kitchen paper.  It reduces in size quite a lot, so be warned.  You need at least a small pinch of dried stamens to flavour a dish, but home grown saffron is very perfumed and packs a lot more punch than shop bought.

I picked my first 2 stamens of this year the other day & put it with my last years harvest, that makes 4 whole stamens lol might even be that pinch that Newshoot mentions 😂
