Well, we have been through illness, limping and house extension! Guy and Karl are healthy and happy it would appear and guy is laying! The two pekin bantams also seem happy, but does anyone know how many they lay? And how often etc?  The chap we bought them from gave the impression yet lay well and often, but talking to others with chickens and books would indicate otherwise?

My bantams each lay probably 5 days a week, (when their not being broody).

Popcorn lays 6-8 eggs in a row and then brood. Eggs are gorgeous though and I am content with eggs from the others so don't mind.

They get it in their heads that it's time to hatch chicks, so they flatten themselves out over any eggs in the nest, which can be anywhere, pull out some of their chest feathers, tell you off if you try to move them and only come out to eat and drink quickly.

Which is exactly what Star our Sussex is doing right now
