How my peonies that I 'rescued' from next door when he was digging them all up, are getting on 4 years down the line!

Beautiful, my mum had dark red when we were growing up, she never gardened at all so no idea how something so lovely grew for her

My friend Sharon told me that peonies don't like being moved, but I think I read somewhere that there are different varieties, some are okay with being moved and some don't??

The old lady who lived next door had a garden almost as big as ours, but with hundreds of flowers and trees.  Over the past 11 years, they have been gradually dug up.  A couple of years ago the chap that's there now, even dug out one of the 2 beautiful cedar trees!

Brian told him they were protected and that if he ever sold the place and they weren't there, he would be in trouble!

Must have scared him a bit because the other one is still there.  He got rid of many of the holly trees though. 

And its not like he and his wife are townies, they are both locals!

They are lovely! Fancy wanting to out them    They said on telly yesterday that it's not true that they resent being disturbed.  They live for donkeys years apparently

Beautiful - mine lasted until the rain too! they are really in an awkward place but I've avoided moving mine for 6 years because of the conflicting advice. This will be the year when I brave it then!

Go for it Sweetpea.  I bet you'll be really pleased you did!

Mind you, mine are next to the fence, facing west and sheletered on the north side by the oil tank, but as soon as it rains, over they go!

I cut all the biggest ones off to give the other buds a chance, and was surprised how heavy the big flowers were when they are full of water!
