;) Morning folks.
Never asked a question on this side of website as I've not had any problems but
not sure what's causing this one. ???
I started making wine from kits about 3 years ago with good results but for some
reason I've started having problems with the early stage of fermentation.
Same equipment ( spotlessly clean,) same brand of wine, same conditions & doing
exactly the same but the last 2 brews have been over lively, spurting out of the top
& smelling very strong, ( other half not pleased) :( The end result seams ok though,
(she likes that bit.) I usually make the wine medium strength but this time I
made it weaker to see if that would stop it happening but it still did it. :(
Any suggestions PLEASE.
Keith.

Morning mate, it could be the makers have changed the yeast combo and this is causing your problem, one of the most vigorous home made wine that I have made is Worzels orange wine (wow), its like watching a lava lamp, much cheaper to make than a kit and has a Chardonay-ish taste, cheers Dave

Could be that the 'wine to be' is too warm, you could move it to a cooler site and see if there is any reduction in fermentation. A far more troubling problem is 'stuck fermentation' where it is reluctant to start.
Cheers, Tony. :)

As Kleftiwallah says it is probably too warm. If you cannot find a cooler spot then try starting it off in a larger container, racking it off after the vigorous fermentation has subsided.

Morning Folks :nowink:
Many thank's for the replies & suggestions received ;). I forgot to say
that I have always stood it in the room where the boiler is & it keeps it
at a steady 23/24c. This brew has now settled down & I have racked
it again & now it appears to be fine :) but we will have to see if it clears
ok when bottled & of cause if it tastes ok, which I'm sure the other half
will confirm, lol
Many thank's again & Happy Brewing. ;)
