Blightwatch - Full Smith period warning already!
« on: May 18, 2011, 21:34 »
Surprised to receive a full Smith period warning from Blightwatch today for the Bradford area.  Seems a bit early and I didn't think it was warm enough.  It has been very windy too, which is not a good combination either.

What do others think - is it too soon to spray?  I would rather not use fungicide if at all possible.  Is there anything else to do?

Others have posted on here a few days ago reporting Smith Periods.

It's rather early to panic when there are no reported outbreaks of blight anywhere in the UK.

Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

Thanks.  That's reassuring.  I will leave well alone.
