This is my allotment!
« on: May 22, 2009, 10:50 »
Hi, I've been on the Forum some 4 years now and want to thank everyone for the help and encouragement I've had. Started out sharing a plot, which didn't work out, sadly, BUT it gave me the grow-your-own bug and I applied for my own plot, which I've had about 18 months. It WAS a very weedy, rubbishy Plot No. 8 overrun with horse tail (mare's tail?)but hubby and I have put some work in. We also decided to opt to rent just half from this year ....... so please feel free to have a look round what is now Plot 8B ... a  little corner of heaven for less than 50 pence a week!  So for those of you who are just starting out and worry about losing the plot, it can be done ... just keep plugging or should I say digging away!

It's only a small allotment
Self-sufficient in rasberries and bindweed. Slug pellets can be handy.

Nice looking plot - am starting to think I might have to go down to a half plot, its so difficult to find the time to keep on top of my full one

I went down to a half plot Richard, and generally haven't regretted it.

Sometimes I wish I had another two beds for peas, but then I realise how much clearance I'd have to do on the other half of the plot - for the second time, as I cleared it once when sharing the full plot with a friend, before giving it up to the current tenants who don't know the definition of dig - rant over - and actually I like the time and effort input that my half plot currently requires.

So, no asparagus, but a more relaxed time when I'm  there  :D
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

I just thought that myself - it's because the file size is very small - only big enough for the thumbnail!
