I bought some seed potatoes over  a week ago  and on the pack it said they were ready to plant(they had some small roots on them, about 5-6 mm).They have been stored on a tray since then but dont seem to have advanced at all.In fact i was going to plant them yesterday but was told that they were nowhere near ready yet. Should i plant them in the week regardless or give it another week or so ?

Which variety were they?  Lots of peeps don't bother chitting their maincrop spuds; however, if they are first or second earlies I'd let them chit to at least 1cm-2cm before I planted them.

They're Pink Fir Apples.I've got somePentland Javelin that have about 10 mm growth&my King Edwards are up to 25 mm.

PFA take ages to chit...I shoved mine in with chits about half a centimetre!

PFA are a late maincrop, so I'd pop them in anytime now until mid-April.
