Give us a clue where you are Michael, it may have relevance.

You can put it in your profile.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

I hope not, because Ive just done mine!

Seriously, just keep an eye out for frost forecast and get ready to earth up or fleece just in case

If the weather is ok then pop them in. The sooner you plant them the quicker you can harvest them. I have planted all my maincrops in polypots and they are in the greenhouse. For slow growing maincrops you could plant them in 4" pots and grow in a greenhouse or warm area just now and then transplant them into potato beds later on.
That is my little secret :D

Seems a bit of a faff but would be brilliant in a cold spring...a Eureka moment there i think :D

I actually started my spud planting a couple of days ago and have just done the earlies. (Swift & Pentland Javelin). I'll be doing continual planting until I get to the lates. I'm away for the weekend, then have the Charlotte & Kestrel to do. Weather permitting it could only be a week before I get to the lates. (Sarpo Mira, Picasso & Ambo).

If I get a chance I will put Golden Wonder in a small pot and let it grow in my greenhouse then dig a hole and pop it in and gently cover with soil. I will do it on video and add it to my collection on youtube to amuse you all :tongue2:
No point worrying about blight as either you get it or you don't.
Spray weekly with Dithane 945 to prevent it the best you can and if you do get it chop the shaws off at ground level and dispose of them away from your plot.
Always wash your hands and clothes after handling blighted shaws as you can tranmit the spores by touch or on your clothes.
