Mine are Oregon Sugar Pod  and grow to 3'. They said they're self-supporting if sown in a block but I found they were lying down so stuck in a few 4' canes and they're much happier (and not trying to strangle my bush beans!).

I grew Oregon last year. Sown in situ in November and picked in spring. Delicious and good harvest.

As far as height and support are concerned, they grew to around seven feet and definitely needed support. The instructions on the packet were to plant three to a station 45 cm between stations. Can't remember the distance between rows - I just left them at a distance I could walk between to pick pods.

Good Heavens snoop!  7' ??????
I planted Oregon from T&M because the packet said they were only 3' and self-supporting. I planned the planting and they're next to sugar snaps which I know (grew last year) grow to 5'.
If they reach 7' all the light will be blocked!!!
No...no...no... :(

How odd! I've just checked for mangetout instructions and everything I've read says around three feet. One mentions 120 cm, so a bit more. Well, I can only say what my experience was. Maybe it was because the stations were quite a way apart. But I had three seeds in each station and they all grew to around the same height.

I've got some other mangetout in at the moment. No idea what they are (seeds given to me) but they're over five feet now.

This year I chose sugarsnaps again rather than mangetout, variety Sugar Ann and they are only knee high, last year it was Sugarsnaps Delikett and the were also knee high.

Mine are Sugar Ann, mum! Actually they're about 5/6 foot but the bed is 18" deep.
