I remember seeing a post where someone replied about an alternative to kale that was very tasty but I can't find it. Any one know what it was?
I work very hard so don't expect me to think as well.

Cavolo Nero ? It is an Italian type of kale much finer and for a while was the plaything of all those Michelin starred chefs, may still be, but you know how fickle these artists are . I have grown some and it is very nice wilted with smoked bacon... or should I say porchetta... mushrooms... or should that be porcini... garlic a pinch of chilli  and creme frais as a sauce for lasagnette ... which is a bit like tagliatelle... only much better  :D

I don't know if it was the one in the post, but another vote for cavolo nero.  I chop out the central rib, boil it until tender then drain very thoroughly until completely dry.  Then heat a little olive oil in a pan, add some fennel seeds and sliced garlic, then stir through the cooked cavolo nero and season with salt and black pepper. It tastes fantastic.

I am trying Red Russian kale this year as I really don't like kale ( :D) but was told by a few people it is very tasty - I am going to add to salads.  Should be pretty next winter, too.
I can resist anything except temptation.

Kailaan or Brokali? Both seem to be kale/broccoli hybrids.
