Sad loss

I am feeling really down because in the past week I have lost one of my laying light sussex bantams to either a buzzard or a tawny owl. Following that in quick succession I have lost two of my sabelpoots, one lemon millefleur and one lavendar. Very mysterious because they just died overnight with no obvious symptoms. Both of them were too young to have started laying.

I am so sorry for this terrible loss. That would have given me nightmares. A hen keeper's worst nightmare!

when birds first come into lay it can be quite stressful for them and this could be the reason for their sudden deaths
