bolted beets
« on: May 13, 2020, 10:01 »

I watered regularly, but one of my beetroots has bolted. I've nipped the flowering stem off, but I suppose it's too late - it's a goner, right?

It's no big deal as I have loads of beets, but never seen a bolted beet this early.

Sown in Feb, sunny position on my plot, guess all this hot weather just sped that particular seedling along very quickly

Hi, I am in Nottingham too and loads of my onions have bolted, I think mild/wet followed by warm/dry followed by cold/dry has just confused the plants too much! I would eat it now and enjoy, if it's big enough!
