Molly the cat caught something, again!
« on: August 14, 2018, 21:12 »
Oh my! Crashing and banging about upstairs  oh no, not another mouse or frog again!

It was a tiny rodent, hiding inside my slipper   Managed to catch it inside by covering the slipper, and let it loose under the hedge, and kept Molly inside for now ::)  I hope it has gone somewhere safe by the morning. Identified it now as a shrew, I've never seen one of those close before, a pretty little thing  :)

They're so kind, aren't they? :)
One of our moggies brought in a young rat and released it in the bedroom. It woke Val up as it scuttled through her hair, which didn't best please her

My cat years ago used to catch shrews, they are cute aren’t they. As for rats in bedrooms yuk, that would be it for me no cats coming in & out at night. My late mother’s 2(yes I’ve still got them, & would still like to rehome them 2 years on, do you want any more?) get shut in the utility room after dinner when they get their meat meal & that’s it til the next day, so anything they might bring in is seen off before the door gets opened again.

Update 1 of those 2 left a present on the doormat in the utility room this morning.....the contents of their stomach!

Much as we love our cats, no more. What with strays that moved in and one thing and another we've ended up with 7 which is too many. Rufus the feral barn cat now sleeps on the bed by me and has never caught a thing. I think he's scared of mice! You don't have to be mad to live here... that's what the voices tell me.

Our daughter's cat has done a good line in bringing baby rabbits to share for the past few months. None left now, either all eaten by Bramble or too big for him to catch. He has been very generous with his "gifts" this year

Shrews and voles he usually releases in the living room  :nowink:
