I'm wanting to paint some ribbed decking with a light colour paint, is there product  that people would recommend?
The decking has previously been painted with a cuprinol cream wood stain but  has flaked off. The colour ideally needs to be light to reflect light into a north facing room.
Any ideas folks?

Clean off the old flaking paint then give it a coat of unibond diluted 1-10 with water . This will seal the wood and create a surface that the new paint can adhere to. As regards the paint , it will need to be of industrial quality to stand up to traffic and weathering. Pay what you can afford as this is not a job you want to be doing regularly.

is it going to make the decking slippery in wet weather ??
Some industrial paints for timber steps etc incorporate non slip particles such as carborundum and they are also hard wearing.

If you want it non-slip either buy non-slip paint or add sand to the paint.
