Seeds I have sown today
« on: February 17, 2019, 14:54 »
These are in modules under cover before I get shouted at for starting too early, but today the following have gone in :

Cabbages Hispi, Heart and Red Rookie
Spinach Giant Noble
Mangetout peas Golden Podded, Bijou and Little Snowpea Purple

Itchy fingers now quietened ... for now   Anyone else now past controlling the urge to play with seed packets - you know who you are  ;)

The usual suspects then? Me me me miss  :D
I sowed a load of sweetpeas today, to add to the list.
So far - a few smaller tomatoes for the windowledges, 2 types of onions, aubergines, peppers, chillis, perennial cauli & kale plus celeriac.

I've actually planted my Winterkefe peas in the greenhouse border now, as well

I sowed 6 hispi and 6 cos in my little gro_house about 10 days ago and they're just showing now. With another mild week forecast my fingers will be itching again!

may go and throw some celeriac in after reading this!  :D  :D

Looks like I need to add Celeriac to my shopping list!  Threw some beetroot in instead.

Kept the satuma containers from lidl the small plastic pots with lid has made a perfect little propagator for my windowsill

I only popped  into the greenhouse to sow some (very late) onion seeds.  I think I must have gone into some sort of trance because when I came to I had sown onions - 3 varieties, leeks - two varieties, tomatoes - Fantasio, Trinidad Perfume chillies, Excel cabbage, courgettes - three types, little gem lettuce, Webb's type lettuce, Masterpiece Green Longpod broad beans, asters and zinnias.

I'm hanging on to se if this mild weather keeps coming because we have no heating on in the greenhouse at present and I keep getting mice invading so although I'm itching to start I could be tad behind most of you by the sounds of it anyway I hope this weather hold on for all good seeding  :D

Yippee - first sowing (Wizard field beans) and planting (saved garlic) today.  :)

Tomorrow it'll be leeks and sweet peas sown in trays in the GH.
Sow your seeds, plant your plants. What's the difference? A couple of weeks or more when answering possible queries!

One of the best things about being an orang-utan is the fact that you don't lose your good looks as you get older

I’ve sown
3 types lettuce- actually 4 as sowed a row direct yesterday under some fleece!
Beetroot
Onion
Salad onion
Broad beans
Peas
Turnip
Ox eye daisies
Ammi majus
I’ve realised though that there just isn’t enough light on my 2 windowsills so they all gone out to a little 4 tier blowaway with fleece blankets. I might have to get a walk in blowaway this year.. can’t afford a greenhouse and 4 tiers are about full now..

glad to see I'm not the only one with itchy fingers. Thought it was a newbie thing but clearly not  :D

In the last few weeks
Broad beans (first lot hoping to succession plant)
Onions
leeks
sweet peas

Hoping to try early carrots in the greenhouse
Has stopped the itch for now
Happy Gardening May your plot be abundant in veg and free from slugs ! :)

I too have succumbed during this mild spell (thinking spring is here when we are still in winter )

on windowsill a few different types of toms/peppers basil and trying to get artichoke to germinate.
I have enough seeds to redo all of these if this weather doesn't hold or they fail so all ive lost is a bit of time and compost :D

also, after having major failings in the parsnip germination in the last few years, ive took a gamble with this warm weather and tried a couple of short rows to see if they may take the bait!  I normally leave it until april, so it will be interesting to see what happens.

 :)
