Ingredients:

6oz selfraising white flour
6oz wholemeal flour
Half a teaspoon of salt
Half a teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda
half a pint of buttermilk

Method:

Put dry ingredients in a bowl, add buttermilk

Knead lightly
Shape into a round, then flatten and cut a cross in the top
Bake at 200degrees in the oven for 30minutes.

I add herbs, cheese or thinly sliced onion for variation.
It can be flattened out and cut into rounds, as scones.

Easy Peasy!
