Mantis Tiller
« on: April 14, 2013, 11:49 »
Bought a petrol Mantis Tiller in the spring of last year.Have used it for all sorts of jobs with the various attachments which I bought extra.Back end of last year felt that the tines were loose and sloppy .Contacted Mantis and they advised sending the worm gear assembly back to them.Within a week had it back with new bearings and seals.Great service and no charge of course.Used it yesterday on some beds, better than ever now.

That's a good news story, Mikeimp!

I ordered one the week before last, and it arrived in just a few days! Highly impressed by the quality, although I've only had one good run-out with it, as it's been raining every time I've wanted to use it!

I noticed the engine was slightly off square, and it only took a few minutes looking through the manual to see how to cure it - had to buy a new spanner though, but that's not an issue, as some of my spanners must have been used to bolt up the ark...0)

We'd wanted one for ages, and the weather still beats us to it!

Ha ha ha, Grendel!

Back in 1964, when I had a Lambretta, I needed metric spanners, which one had to buy from some foreign place back then! I've lost the lot over the years, but they were pretty damn good!

The one bit of kit I needed was an 8mm ring spanner, and for £1.70, I became the proud owner of a shiny new one, from the place in Hurst Green, just down the road!
