Title: Another one for the Christmas dinner list.
Post by: SAMANTHA MOLLY on July 05, 2009, 21:20
My strawberries have gone crazy this year, so many we can't eat them! A good problem  We have 130 plants plus as last years pregnancy prevent me picking off the runners! :D

Anyhow, i'm freezing them for Christmas smoothies (they store for 6 months)

I will be making Jam next week!

Just thought i'd post if anyone is also sick of eating them.

I'm never sick of eating them, just picking them. Wish someone else in this household would do it sometimes.

the kids loved it when my strawbs were first fruiting, now they just look at them and say no thanks!!

Have had to give them away to friends, family and co-workers!!

I bought some double cream so I could make the strawberry ice-cream recipe posted by another user but I quite fancy a smoothie too  :tongue2: drool!

About 10 million!

Actually, it varies with varities. You could get 6 or so runners with 2 or 3 plants on each runner. You can soon increase your stock!
