An excellent start Sal. Must be great to have talent like that. I've a feeling there'll be a few more annoyingly clever people about :D
Not had a pumpkin for years. Ought to buy a couple of cheap ones and have a practice for next year's comp.

Kerching.
-
what was the opinion on entering photos that have been modified/enhanced?
i couldn't see anything in the rules.
-
We'll get John to rule on that Jenny :D
-
Since most photos start digital and all are digital display, it's impossible to say what is enhanced or improved. We're not that serious either, it's the feel of the photo rather than the technical expertise.
Obviously we don't want pure digital creations but it's not something we could police so I think it's up to the individual. I often enhance my own photos, just to show detail better or so forth. Not that I can enter this :D
Last month we had some technically superb photos but, to my mind, they weren't the best ones. Shiny shop bought rather than proper shots wi' muck on 'em
Hope that clarifies my reasoning

Getting rid of some of the rubbish on the allotment
-
It looks like you've set fire to your arm there! :o
-
I love a bonfire but correct me if im wrong i thought it was best not to burn plastic because of the toxins it gives off!If we have a fire its wood only.I expect i have that wrong
-
As a rule, if you want to use the ash as a great natural source of potash then you should avoid burning treated timber, plastics etc. The thing is though, there's that much pollution in the environment anyway that I doubt it's a big deal. That's just my feeling though, not a researched viewpoint.
-
I'd like to remind members that although "New Members" can enter a picture only in the competition only "Full Members" entries will be included in the competition voting.
