Pleased with my flooring choice, thought I would share
« on: October 16, 2011, 19:37 »
I often read posts asking what to put on the floor of a run and thought I would let you know what i have done. We have 2 covered areas in our run at both ends with an open but meshed area inbetween linking the 2 closed in areas. In one covered end i have left the area as soil for dust bathing as it doesnt get wet when it rains. The other covered area is paving slabs with the food and water hanging above them so that they cant get covered in muck as was happening before. In the open area I have started using the play bark from my childrens play area (there was too much in there anyway). Hopefully this type of bark wont get the mould spores and as its in an area where it gets the sun (when shining) i am hoping it will dry out nicely anyway.

All i have to do is sweep the kicked bark from slabs and rake the bark from the muck, I know i still have a winter to try it out to see if it works, but the girls certainly love the different areas.
