Evening All

My husbad dispatched a chicken for the first time today only I'm not sure he actually managed to kill her.

She was sick and suffering which is why we decided to end it.  We had already had a demo from the farmer next door on our last sick chicken but watching and doing arent the same thing.

As he pulled her neck she was sick and she blinked.  As I was adamant she was not dead he pulled her neck a few more times, each time she was sick.

Her neck was torn wide open and her crop was hanging out but she did not flap her wings.

Convinced she was dead we then put her head first on a fire to cremate her, at this point her legs started kicking.  Did I burn her alive?

I need to know the truth regarding whether we messed up please don't sugar coat any replies.

Thank you.

She would have been well dead, the eyes blinking, beak opening and legs and wings flapping is just the nerves. This is where "running around like a headless chicken" comes from.
