I am not very experienced at growing things but I have some potatoes growing in sacks and have been earthing them up for 4 layers.
This meant the bags were about three quarters full.
When we had alot of rain, I didn't cover them with any more compost and they have now grown really tall and stalky.
They have lots of leaves but I am worried that there might not be any spuds in there.
Should I try and put more compost in or just leave them till they flower.

Keep adding the compost.

As long as you have earthed them up and kept them watered I suspect that they have produced a crop. Add some feed of some sort as potatoes need feeding. I grow mine in pots and simply throw on a handful of pelleted chicken manure everythime I earth them up, then give them a good watering. So far so good.
