How many do you expect to get from each plant? I have 2 on each, 1 large and 1 smaller but have had loads die and then fall off...

hi- I had several yellow ones that dropped off early season- now there are 6-7 se on teh plant, and its just spreading everywhere.  I think if you have good soil you can get a lot more fruit.( or are they drupes?)

I wanted to ask about my pumpkin plant too......

It seems to be doing really well, trailing in every direction with mega huge leaves. I've noticed quite a few flowers but so far only 3 little orange fruits, and one has dropped off. Should I do anything to maximise fruit production? How many would I expect per plant? Does the plant need pruning? I'm loving the look of it lush, big green leaves amongst the sweetcorn, but also want to eat of it's fruit.

Apologies for hijacking the thread Sadgit just thought with a pumpkin thread going on, another would be overkill.......................

Depends on the plant and the season ...

... my first year I had 10 on one plant, it was a something blue, but I didn't grow it again because I wanted orange pumpkins not grey ones.  They were all a really decent size.

Last year I had 4 or 5 on each and they got to a decent size.

I've got 2 on my Jack of All Trades, 2 on my Atlantic Giant, and 5 on my small green squash (can't remember the name!).

Hi there.
After you get 2 I suggest you snip the end off so that all of the energy goes into the fruit and not forming more leaves.
Also use a tomato feed.
If you can get some hay / straw to place underneath the fruit as it forms, this will prevent the skin form rotting whilst it is trying to develop.
