I have bought a variety pack of garden perenials so that i can create a nice area for bee's and butterflies in my allotment.  When they arrived they were all tubers or bulbs.  I had hoped to get the area sorted and plant these out by the end of the month, but I don't think that is going to be possible.  My question is, will the tubers remain dormant if not planted and if they do, what is the best possible way of storing them until I can get around to planting them into the ground?  What i don't want is to have wasted my money if they won't remain dormant.

I'd plant them anyway, they are unlikely to do anything this year, but its not impossible. They won't improve lying in a bag somewhere.

plant them in large pots and you can transplant them when you are ready.

I agree. Some bulbs and tubers will simply die if not at least potted up and kept lightly moist from time to time.
