I am usually just a vegetable grower but as my allotment is at a pub last year I grew sweet peas so they could use them as table decorations in the restaurant(I get the allotment free they get some of the produce). Last year was an abundant year for SPs but so far this year it seems very sparse even though I planted twice as many. Any ideas why I am getting slow growth and very few flowers.

Full sun and plenty of water? Soil dug over and fed well before planting?
Transplanted seedlings or grown on the spot?
Bought seeds or last years seeds?

Also give them a feed (tomato feed will be fine) mine have come on lots since doing that

Mine benefited from a feed of phosphegen (sp?  ) - anyway, soluble general plant feed.  It boosted the sad looking runners and the sweet peas.  They are at least 3 weeks late into flower here - perhaps a month.

If you are growing them in the same place, the soil would need a good boost. Plenty of tomato feed will help (as other have said) or comfrey feed does the job too

comfrey feed for me to , got masses , sick of cutting them tbh  but will miss them when they gone!
