Title: Tylan & egg withdrawal
Post by: trinacooke on May 29, 2009, 20:32
Hi all My Girls are all better now  :) They have been on Tylan soluble stuff for the water and finished this on Monday.

Could somebody clarify for me the withdrawal period for the eggs! the Lady who I got the Chickens from gave me the course of Tylan (she works in a Vets) and has told me that you should not eat the eggs for 28 days! .............

BUT ...... after searching the internet I am now confused  ??? as it says there is a 0 withdrawal for egg laying birds? after treatment am I throwing away eggs that we could be eating (it is horrible doing this)  :( or is it better to be safe than sorry!! as I have two young children!!

Many thanks! Trina  :)

Hi trina.

I've just read this www.vmd.gov.uk/espcsite/Documents/140142.DOC
and it does say no egg withdrawal period but it might be best to get it confirmed from a veterinary professional.

It's a Word document so should open in word, word reader or even IE with a plugin.

Basically confirms what you suspect but double check anyway.
