bald patches

I have 6 hens that live in my garden.  Two of the black rock hens have developed bald patches on their necks.  Everything else seems to be alright with them.  They have full access to a very large garden so are not cooped up.  Is it normal to develope bald patches, i am still quite new at keeping hens.
