Hi

I took on a full plot last year and I will be giving it up later this year, however I planted some fruit bushes and was wondering if I could grow any of them successfully in pots.  I have planted:

Gooseberry
Raspberry
Tayberry
Blackberry

ok plant the gooseberries with a east to west formation with 3 ft between each plant.
 the raspberries grow on wires as the same with the tayberries and brambles . you could partition the plot off with the wires on an east to west line again , i would have then have 3 windbreaks   . cutting out last years growth on all but the brambles will help the fruit overload ,and also will help in reducing mould with the breeze blowing through .unfortunatly some folks plant them all together in close proximaty and cause more problems for themselves. the brambles can be trained, i would grow them for 3 yrs and then cut out the first years growth keeping fresh growth for the fruit to come  all the branches will produce fruit  but it stops them getting dense growth again

I don't see why containers wouldn't work if you can stop them blowing over.  Make 'em big ones (minimum 25 litres, bigger the better) and pay close attention to feeding and watering.

oops didnt notice the pots bit . but sorry mate id disagree they would be root bound very quickly in my thinking .they are real hungry perishers and watering will be non stop   unless we are talking bath sized pots

Half whisky barrels.  They'd be 100 litres or maybe a bit more.

You could half any 205 litre drum but they look horrible.   Maybe plastic trugs or would you still get bonsai fruit bushes?
