Storing Potatoes
« on: October 09, 2019, 15:54 »
Having no useable shed to speak of, or garage, I wondered if I could store my potatoes up in my loft?
It is cool, dark, and easly accessable .
Has anyone else used their loft to store produce?

Providing it isn't too warm it should be OK as it should be frost free however you need to check on them periodically (and use them) so I assume access is easy.

I chit my potatoes in the loft as it has a window and they are fine, but I'd not store anything up there between April and October as it gets too hot.  I use under the kitchen cupboards (behind kickboards) for storing wine and some garden produce, the concrete floor keeps everything nice and cool (no rodent issues so far).
