Metcheck are currently predicting wind speeds in Manchester next Wed to be over 350mph with a wind chill of -15

should I buy a new hat or should they buy a new computer?

the beaufort scale lists 78mph as a hurricane and you say Metcheck say that Manchester will see winds FIVE times as high as Hurricane speed. Are you sure ??????????

Looks like being good drying weather early and late , might need a few extra pegs.

If all the forecast services are working from the Met Office data, how is it that Metcheck is predicting completely different overnight temps from the Met Office website? I'm not talking about the days the hurricane is hitting, but the next 3 or 4 days.

Metcheck has always given a more pessimistic forecast than the other weather sites.
Each site has to interpret the figures given by the Met, using their own modeling system.

I guess Metcheck would rather people were pleasantly surprised by better weather  than their forecast  8)

I only tend to use them for frost forecasting in the spring when I would rather fleece stuff than be sorry ::)
