Title: Karcher pressure washer leaking
Post by: Plottered on March 24, 2012, 14:40
Hi all
I have a karcher pressure washer (B216 model) which is leaking around the handle of the gun. Does anyone know what sort of tool I need to open up the gun and if possible repair the leak.

thanks

It might need an O ring replaced inside. Where I work we sell and repair these machines, but I'm not part of that technical department. ::) I do know that we had a similar repair in recently which needed to be a replacement....

Without going out to the garage, I'm trying to remember what fixing head it is on our machine. Is it a standard T20 Torx? I think it might be..

Sorry to be the potential bringer of further disappointment, but if you bought it from somewhere like been n queued or t*sco, they have runs of these machines manufactured specially for them, to sell at a budget price and they are not intended to be repairable. :(

To be honest Argyllie I cant remember where we bought it but it probabaly was been n queued or similar. Its quite an old machine. I'll have to have a route round in't shed and see what type of bits i have knocking about.

thanks for the info  :)

only 4 of the fittings are t20 the rest look like they are machine fitted and nothing I have will undo them. Going to look for a replacement gun tomorrow.

many years ago I took the wise step of buying a set of security bits, these include bits with holes up the centre for those irritating torx screws with pins in the centre, or the slot heads that have a pin or raised part in the middle - they have become well worth their while in repairing all sorts of items supposedly with owner proof fixings. - a bit like this -

I have something similar grendel (only not in the case like they should be) but nothing that will undo this gun.
